An air compressor manufacturer such as Domnick Hunter may claim that you have to purchase their Genuine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) compressor filters or you will void the warranty of their air compressor. This concept has been proven to be false in court, but regardless, nearly every air compressor manufacturer has a similar tactic to try and keep your filter business.

The problem is that a manufacturer like Domnick Hunter will claim they manufacturer their K060AA filter, but that same part number crosses to over 20 other part numbers from different air compressor manufacturers. From Atlas Copco and Compair to Ingersoll Rand and Sullair, they all offer this exact same coalescing filter element, but with a different part number. 

In another attempt to keep selling their expensive filters, compressor manufacturers will change the part number to confuse customers and competitors like us. The Domnick Hunter K060AA is the same filter as Domnick Hunter K085AA, K120AA, K145AA and K145AX filter elements.
