An air compressor failure caused a minor explosion at the Ornet manufacturing plant, well if you consider one wall being blown out and damage to multiple other walls, a "minor" explosion. 

One of the main causes of air compressor failure is due to contamination. How do you prevent air compressor contamination? Use a quality filter element and regularly check to make certain the filter element is clean. Pressure drop not only causes excessive energy use, it is also a sign that is your filter is dirty and contamination could bypass into the air compressor and cause expensive damage.
